Navajo Office of Vital Records and Identification (NOVRI) is currently open to the public during the hours of 9:00 am - 2:30 pm; Monday through Friday at all of our agency Offices.

The Navajo Office of Vital Records is responsible for Enrollment information, and maintain tribal member updating life changing records. We hope that the information on our site serves your needs.

Updating Records:

Updating your records will be done at your discretion. Life-changing events such as: marriage, divorce, the birth of a child, name change and death, must be supported by legal documentation.  

All mailed, faxed or emailed requests must be notarized:

Navajo Office of Vital Records and Identification has recognized the possibility of identity theft, impersonating an identity and false representation. NOVRI’s goal is to protect the information of our tribal members, therefore all request must be notarized in order to process the request

Important Information

Window Service is available from 9:00am to 2:30pm at all of our Agencies, these locations DO NOT OFFER same day service on request such as: New Enrollment, Marriage/Divorce Updates, Name Changes, Affidavit of Birth.
Each request is subject to research, therefore same day service may not available for Certificate of Navajo Indian Blood, and BIA-4432 Verification of Indian Preference for Employment, etc.,
